The SOLIDWORKS Premium 2016 Flatten Surface Tool provides more control and more variations of surfaces that can be flattened. You can flatten any face, surface, or set of faces with internal geometries such as holes or extruded cuts. You can select curves and sketches on the surface to flatten. You can also select curves, sketches, and edges on the surface to be relief cuts or split lines. When you select these entities in the graphics area or the FeatureManager design tree, they display in the Flatten PropertyManager.
SOLIDWORKS 2016 is packed with new, customer-focused enhancements. Whether you design single components, incredibly complex equipment, or even entire facilities, SOLIDWORKS 2016 delivers easy-to-use tools to help turn your ideas into higher-quality products. Check out the SOLIDWORKS 2016 Top 10 List for the features to look out for:
HSMWorks Professional 2016 supports 3+2 strategies for CNC milling machines as well as turning support for CNC lathes. HSMWorks Premium 2016 includes all of these capabilities and adds simultaneous 5-axis machining. HSMXpress 2016 is a free product that provides 2.5-axis milling. Both solutions provide users of SolidWorks software with powerful integrated CAM tools that improve productivity of their design to manufacturing workflows.
Already the amount of feedback for these changes in 2016 has been great, while some like the new interface others wish for something more akin to the icons in 2015 and previous. Year after year the development team have proven they are listening. The current plan published by Tom Spine who is Director of User Experience Design at SOLIDWORKS is: 2b1af7f3a8
