d: I needed to download a driver from the ftdif website. Apparently, the CDM version that works with XP is not compatible with windows 8. e: after doing all this; I still wasn't able to get to the immo program to match the key.
I got a call today about a company that can program the immo; from a ferrari. So, I will be sending them the immo (and key) and then they will program it and send it back to me. Not sure if this is a scam or not; hopefully not. Will update this post with any info on this.
a: I didn't find a way to get the pin out of the first two clusters.b: I could not get the pin out of the third cluster. So, I just pulled it out.c: I needed to turn off windows defender and any virus software; otherwise, it would treat the app as a virus, remove it from your computer. So, when I turned it back on; WF removed it and this required me to re-install Vagtacho and the driver, every time I wanted to use it again.
If after completing the above steps; you do not see the green indicator light; please make sure you have not moved your Vag-Tacho OBD cable; do you have any other cables that are plugged into your usb port. If you have one or more cables plugged into your usb port; the cable may be causing issues with the vagtacho software.
Once the green light is on; you can now enter a serial number (on the screen where it says serial number) and send a message to the immo (this is how you program your key) and the immo will recognize it. If the immo doesn't recognize your key, the new key is not programmed in the immo. Do a key swap and repeat. 827ec27edc
